A return from request to resolution.
A typical warranty return, followed through four stages. Not every case needs all of them — some are resolved remotely or without a physical return — but each team works from the same record, so nothing is re-keyed and nothing is lost in handover.

Understand what every return costs.
Shipping, parts, labour and supplier outcomes are recorded on the RMA as the work happens, so a manager can answer the practical questions without a spreadsheet.
- Which products generate the most warranty work?
- How much are shipping, parts and labour costing us?
- Where are cases waiting, and on whom?
- Which faults support a supplier recovery claim?
See what return shipping costs.
Cost by carrier, direction and SKU, with restocking and shipping fees applied where your policy allows, so you know what is being subsidised.
Reduce the admin behind every RMA.
Labels, approvals, notifications and customer self-service are automated, so your team handles exceptions instead of data entry.
Find the products generating warranty work.
Fault codes and return costs are tied to products, so recurring failures show up before they compound.
Build the case for supplier recovery.
Attribute faults to suppliers and keep the evidence a credit, warranty claim or negotiation needs in one place.

Questions merchants ask us.
If your situation is more specific than the answers here, a demo is the fastest way to find out whether we fit. Or install the free plan and try it with real returns.
Does ReturnMate handle standard returns and exchanges, or only warranty and repairs?
Both. Most merchants start with everyday returns: a customer requests a return through the portal, your team approves it, a return label is issued, and the item is received and refunded or exchanged. Warranty claims, repair jobs, supplier tracking and dangerous-goods handling run on the same records and can be switched on when your products need them.
Does it work with my Shopify store?
Yes. ReturnMate installs from the Shopify App Store and runs inside the Shopify admin. It reads your orders, customers and products, and writes refunds, exchanges, store credit and order tags back to Shopify. Billing runs through Shopify, so it appears on your existing Shopify invoice.
What does the free plan include, and what does it cost after that?
The Free plan is US$0 — 5 returns a month, then US$2 per additional return (max 30/month), no credit card required. Starter is US$49/month for up to 50 returns (then US$2 per additional RMA, capped at US$200/month), Growth is US$299/month, Ops is US$599/month and Scale is US$1,349/month. Extra staff seats (US$8 per user) and extra locations (US$49) can be added to any plan; Advanced Analytics (US$249/month) is available on Growth and Ops. Enterprise is US$2,500/month for unlimited returns, scoped with our team for multi-brand operations. All prices are in USD and billed through Shopify.
How long does setup take?
ReturnMate installs from the Shopify App Store and connects to your store directly, so basic returns can be running the same day. Configuration that reflects your own operation — return rules, warranty terms, fault codes, dangerous-goods classification per SKU, SLA thresholds, locations and staff permissions — is added step by step, and a demo is the quickest way to plan it if your setup is more involved.
Do you integrate with our helpdesk?
Yes — Gorgias and Zendesk are supported natively, so RMA context appears alongside the customer conversation. There is also a REST API with real-time webhooks for anything custom.
Which carriers does ReturnMate support?
Live in Australia and New Zealand: Australia Post, StarTrack, TNT (FedEx AU), Team Global Express, Mainfreight and NZ Post. In beta worldwide: FedEx, UPS, DHL Express, Aramex, USPS, Canada Post, Purolator, Canpar, Royal Mail, DPD (UK), InPost, GLS, PostNL, DHL Parcel (Germany), Aramex AU (Fastway) and CouriersPlease. Carrier routing is dangerous-goods aware, so restricted items are only offered compliant services.
Can we run multiple Shopify stores from one account?
Yes. Multi-store runs hub-and-spoke: transfers between locations, location-based role permissions, dedicated warehouse views, and reporting consolidated across every connected store.
Does ReturnMate handle dangerous goods compliance?
Yes. ReturnMate classifies dangerous goods per SKU (UN number, class, packing group), generates transport documents prepared in accordance with the ADG Code (Edition 7.9) automatically, enforces carrier restrictions so non-compliant routing is blocked at the point of label creation, and applies DG surcharges transparently.
Can we accept warranty repairs for items not bought from us?
Yes. Third-party repairs are raised as TPR-prefixed RMAs, which keeps them separate from your own sales. You can quote paid repairs through Shopify checkout for out-of-warranty items without exposing refunds or store credit.
How is ReturnMate different from Loop, AfterShip or ReturnGO?
Those platforms are strong at the returns process itself, and several now offer warranty modules too. The difference is how far the workflow goes after that. ReturnMate is built for the operational work that follows: technician assignment and diagnostics, labour tracking and paid repair quotes through Shopify checkout, three-level fault classification tied back to suppliers for recovery, warehouse receiving across locations, and dangerous goods classification and documentation. If your returns are mostly apparel, they are a better fit than us. If a return usually means an inspection, a repair, a supplier claim or a compliance form, that is what we are for.
Returns, warranty and repairs, handled in one place.
