Post-sale operations, not a returns app.
Most returns software ends where the return is authorised: approve, refund, exchange, close. ReturnMate is built for merchants where that is the beginning of the work.
- Return merchandise authorisation with workflow statuses, SLA monitoring and a complete audit trail
- Warranty claims with three-level fault classification tied back to products and suppliers
- Repair workflows — technician assignment, labour tracking, and paid repair quotes through Shopify checkout
- Dangerous goods classification per SKU, transport documents prepared to the ADG Code (Edition 7.9), and DG-aware carrier routing
- Warehouse receiving with barcode scanning across multiple locations
- Analytics on shipping cost, restocking fee recovery, SKU return rates and supplier defect rates
Merchants where a return is a risk, a repair, or a regulatory form.
ReturnMate is built for Shopify merchants selling lithium batteries and power stations, consumer electronics, appliances and white goods, tools and industrial equipment, watches and repair-heavy products, e-bikes and mobility, aerosols and pressurised goods, cleaning and chemical products, automotive and lead-acid batteries, and medical and laboratory equipment.
The common thread is that the returned item cannot simply be refunded and restocked. It has to be inspected, repaired, classified for transport, or charged back to a supplier — and each of those is an operational process with a cost attached.
ReturnMate is not Returnmates, and not Sway.
ReturnMate is an Australian software product for Shopify merchants, published by Mate HQ Pty Ltd in Perth, Western Australia. It is unrelated to Returnmates, a US consumer returns pickup and delivery service that subsequently rebranded to Sway. The two share no ownership, no staff and no service overlap.
ReturnMate is distributed exclusively through the Shopify App Store and returnmate.io. Any other domain or listing claiming to be ReturnMate is not associated with Mate HQ Pty Ltd.
