Dynamics 365 Business Central + ReturnMate
For merchants on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, ReturnMate mirrors products, suppliers, customers, invoices, purchase orders, goods receipts, warehouses and stock levels through the standard Business Central API, and posts sales credit memos when refunds are issued and purchase credit memos when a warranty cost is the supplier’s to fund.
What the Dynamics 365 Business Central connection actually does.
- Mirrors products, suppliers, customers, sales invoices, purchase orders, goods receipts, warehouses and stock levels
- Posts sales credit memos when refunds are issued
- Posts purchase credit memos for supplier-responsible warranty cost — the supplier-recovery channel
- OAuth token flow against your Microsoft tenant
- Delta sync on a cursor — only changed records move after the first mirror
- Per-document posting toggles — you control what ReturnMate writes
Where it earns its place.
Credit memos raised from the refund event
A refund issued on the RMA posts a salesCreditMemo to Business Central with an idempotency key — the finance document exists without re-keying, and retries never duplicate it.
Supplier recovery in Microsoft finance
Supplier-responsible warranty cost posts as a purchaseCreditMemo, so recovery is pursued from inside the finance system your accountant already reconciles.
Stock visibility alongside the return
Mirrored stock levels and goods receipts give the RMA its inventory context — what is on hand, and which receipt the unit likely arrived on.
Connect Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Connect your Microsoft tenant
Settings → Integrations → ERP → Dynamics 365 Business Central. Authentication runs against your Microsoft tenant; credentials are stored encrypted per shop and a connection test confirms access.
- Set posting toggles
Enable the document types you want posted — sales credit memos, purchase credit memos — and map warehouses with a default location.
- Run the first mirror
The initial sync pages through your records in resumable batches; delta sync keeps the mirror current afterwards.
Questions about Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Which plans include the Business Central integration?
ERP integration is available on the Scale and Enterprise plans.
Can ReturnMate post inventory adjustments to Business Central?
Not yet — the Business Central v2.0 standard API does not expose an inventory-adjustment endpoint, so stock movements stay in ReturnMate while credit memos post to Business Central. Journal-based postings are on the adapter roadmap.
Is this the same as Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations?
No — this integration targets Dynamics 365 Business Central (the SMB ERP, formerly NAV). Finance & Operations is a different product with a different API; talk to us if that is your platform.
