§ THE LIFECYCLE

One RMA. From customer request to final resolution.

Every capability below exists because it's a step in the same sequence. That's the difference between a platform and a collection of apps — the customer's claim, the courier leg, the technician's diagnosis and the supplier credit are all the same record.

DECISION GATES — WHERE POLICY REPLACES A JUDGEMENT CALL
§ THE CATEGORY

A return isn't always a refund.

This is the whole reason ReturnMate exists as its own category of software.

For simple products, a return might end with a refund.

For complex products, it can involve freight, dangerous goods paperwork, warehouse receiving, serial verification, diagnostics, repairs, supplier claims, replacement stock and financial recovery.

ReturnMate manages that entire process.

§ CAPABILITIES

Grouped by the team that uses them.

Four teams touch a complex return, and each needs a different surface onto the same record. Nobody has to learn the other three.

§ WORKFLOWS

One platform. Twelve post-sale workflows.

A standard return and a third-party repair are genuinely different operations. Both are first-class workflow types rather than a status field someone repurposed.

§ BUILT FOR

Built for complex products.

ReturnMate earns its place where a return is an operation rather than a refund button — anything needing inspection, repair, transport classification or a supplier conversation.

§ INTEGRATIONS

Connected to the systems already running.

ReturnMate is Shopify-native, so orders, products, customers, inventory and checkout are not an integration — they're the foundation. Everything else plugs into that.

§ FAQ

Common questions.

What is ReturnMate?

ReturnMate is a Shopify-native post-sale operations platform. It manages customer returns, warranty claims, repairs, dangerous goods shipping, warehouse receiving, multi-location transfers, supplier recovery and returns analytics on a single RMA record shared by customer service, warehouse, workshop and finance teams.

It's built for merchants selling products where a return is an operation rather than a refund — anything requiring inspection, diagnosis, repair, transport classification or a supplier claim.

What Shopify returns does ReturnMate manage?

Twelve distinct workflow types: standard returns, warranty claims, damaged in transit, wrong item, counter swaps, third-party repairs, offline repairs, remote resolution, replace in transit, store transfers, customer pickup and disputes. All of them share the same RMA record, audit trail and reporting model, so a mixed operation doesn't need separate systems for each. See RMA management →

Can ReturnMate manage warranty repairs?

Yes — it's one of the platform's core capabilities rather than an add-on. Warranty coverage is decided automatically from policies tied to Shopify products, SKUs, tags and collections. Technicians record a three-level fault classification, diagnostic findings, photos, serial verification, labour minutes and parts consumed, and out-of-warranty work can be quoted and paid through Shopify checkout. See warranty & repairs →

Does ReturnMate support dangerous goods returns?

Yes, and it's a genuine differentiator. When a returned product carries a hazard classification — lithium batteries, aerosols, corrosives — ReturnMate classifies it at the point the return is raised, generates the transport documentation with the label, and filters carrier options to services that will legally accept it on that lane. The return leg is treated as a regulated transport event, which is the part most returns tooling ignores. See dangerous goods handling →

Can ReturnMate connect to an ERP?

Yes. Receipts, stock adjustments, credits and supplier recovery push into Cin7, Unleashed, NetSuite, Brightpearl and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Webhook events also push RMA and fault data to your own BI tool or data warehouse in real time. ERP integrations are available on higher plans — see pricing for the current tier detail.

Is there a free ReturnMate plan?

Yes. The Free plan is $0/month and includes 5 RMAs, so you can run real customer returns before paying anything. Starter is $49/month for up to 50 RMAs, with Growth, Ops, Scale and Enterprise plans for larger operations. Billing runs through Shopify and you can cancel from inside Shopify. Compare plans →

Which features are included on which plan?

Core returns and warranty workflows are available from the Free plan upwards, with the full repair workflow set from Starter. Capabilities that scale with an operation — SLA monitoring, advanced analytics, additional locations and staff, API and BI access, and ERP integrations — are tiered. The pricing page is the single source of truth for what sits where.
