Gorgias + ReturnMate

Gorgias and ReturnMate share the same customer, so the two deserve to share the same timeline. OAuth connects in a click; tickets link to RMAs with bidirectional status sync and a sidebar widget that shows RMA details inside Gorgias.

How merchants use it.

Link an existing ticket

From the RMA detail page, type a ticket ID (or pick from auto-suggest scoped to the customer email). Ticket + RMA are now bidirectional. Every status change on either side posts to the other.

Create a ticket from an RMA

No existing ticket? Click Create Ticket from the RMA. A new Gorgias ticket opens with the customer, order, and RMA number pre-filled. Support picks up, your team takes over.

Sidebar widget for support agents

Install the Gorgias HelpDesk widget. When an agent opens a ticket from a ReturnMate customer, the widget shows all linked RMAs with status badges + one-click deep link. No tab-switching to check "did we refund this one yet?".

§ 03 — Setup

Connect Gorgias in minutes.

    Connect via OAuth

    Settings → Integrations → Gorgias → enter your Gorgias subdomain → Connect. Popup runs OAuth. Tokens are stored encrypted per shop.

    Configure sync direction

    Choose whether to sync ticket messages inbound only, outbound only, or both. Internal notes can be synced separately with visibility controls (admin_only or all staff).

    Install the sidebar widget

    In Gorgias, add the ReturnMate HelpDesk widget URL. Widget auto-authenticates via a signed sidebar API key. Tickets from authenticated ReturnMate customers will surface their RMAs.

Questions about Gorgias.

Does the integration support multiple Gorgias accounts?

One Gorgias account per ReturnMate shop. Multi-store ReturnMate customers with multiple Gorgias accounts install the integration separately per shop.

What happens to a ticket if I delete the RMA?

The RMA deletion removes the link but leaves the Gorgias ticket intact. Gorgias remains the source of truth for customer conversations; ReturnMate only references them.

Are unlinked Gorgias messages stored?

Optionally. Enable "store unlinked messages" and ReturnMate keeps a copy of messages from your Gorgias account that don't have an RMA link — useful for historical search. Retention defaults to 365 days.
