§ 01 — Who it's for

Built for teams where a return isn't just a refund — it's a risk, a repair, or a compliance problem.

If your products contain lithium, need repair or warranty workflows, require specialist freight, or involve suppliers who should be footing the bill — ReturnMate is built for you.

§ 02 — Post-sale operations are killing your margin

Every untracked return, missed compliance form, and unaccounted supplier fault is money walking out the door.

Post-sale operations aren't just messy — they quietly drain margin, add risk, and erode customer trust.

Without ReturnMate

  • Manual admin chaos across email threads, spreadsheets, and Shopify notes nobody reads.
  • No dangerous-goods compliance — you're shipping at regulatory risk every day.
  • No supplier visibility. You eat the cost of faulty products that weren't your fault.
  • Refund leakage. Restocking fees missed, return shipping costs never recovered.
  • No audit trail. Disputes become he-said-she-said, and customers always win.
  • SLA breaches go unnoticed until the escalation lands in the founder's inbox.

With ReturnMate

  • Every RMA tracked with workflow statuses and a full audit trail, down to the click.
  • Automated DG transport documents and compliant carrier routing, at label time.
  • Fault codes tied to products and suppliers — accountability baked into the workflow.
  • Restocking fees, shipping recovery, and cost analytics in real time.
  • 100% audit trail — every action, every decision, every person logged with timestamps.
  • SLA monitoring with breach notifications and queue views your ops lead can actually run.
§ 03 — Outcomes, not workflows

Every return has a cost. ReturnMate shows you where it goes.

And how much you can get back.

ReturnMate connects shipping, labour, product faults and supplier recovery back to real post-sale cost — so you can see what's hitting the P&L and act on it.

SHIPPING

Recover return shipping costs.

Know what every return costs by carrier, direction and SKU — and stop subsidising shipping that should be customer- or supplier-funded.

LABOUR

Reduce the cost of every RMA.

Automate labels, approvals, notifications and customer self-service so your team handles exceptions instead of data entry.

PRODUCT MARGIN

Find the products eroding margin.

Tie fault codes and return costs directly to products so recurring failures become visible before they compound.

SUPPLIER RECOVERY

Make suppliers pay for supplier faults.

Attribute defects to suppliers and build the evidence required for credits, warranty claims and commercial negotiations.

§ 04 — What your team
actually gets

From return request to final resolution — one system.

Returns, repairs, warranty, shipping, compliance and supplier recovery stay connected to the same RMA from start to finish.

Everything connected

One RMA. Every action, every update.

Built for complex ops

DG compliance, repairs, multi-location, suppliers.

Complete visibility

Real-time status, costs, SLA and performance.

Accountability baked in

Faults, actions and decisions are tracked.

§ Stop losing margin after the sale

Questions merchants ask us.

If your situation is more specific than the answers here, a demo is the fastest way to find out whether we fit.

How is ReturnMate different from Loop, AfterShip or ReturnGO?

Those platforms are strong at the returns process itself, and several now offer warranty modules too. The difference is how far the workflow goes after that. ReturnMate is built for the operational work that follows: technician assignment and diagnostics, labour tracking and paid repair quotes through Shopify checkout, three-level fault classification tied back to suppliers for recovery, warehouse receiving across locations, and dangerous goods classification and documentation. If your returns are mostly apparel, they are a better fit than us. If a return usually means an inspection, a repair, a supplier claim or a compliance form, that is what we are for.

Does ReturnMate handle dangerous goods compliance?

Yes. ReturnMate classifies dangerous goods per SKU (UN number, class, packing group), generates transport documents prepared in accordance with the ADG Code (Edition 7.9) automatically, enforces carrier restrictions so non-compliant routing is blocked at the point of label creation, and applies DG surcharges transparently.

Which carriers does ReturnMate support?

Live in Australia and New Zealand: Australia Post, StarTrack, TNT (FedEx AU), Team Global Express, Mainfreight and NZ Post. In beta worldwide: FedEx, UPS, DHL Express, Aramex, USPS, Canada Post, Purolator, Canpar, Royal Mail, DPD (UK), InPost, GLS, PostNL, DHL Parcel (Germany), Aramex AU (Fastway) and CouriersPlease. Carrier routing is dangerous-goods aware, so restricted items are only offered compliant services.

Do you integrate with our helpdesk?

Yes — Gorgias and Zendesk are supported natively, so RMA context appears alongside the customer conversation. There is also a REST API with real-time webhooks for anything custom.

Can we accept warranty repairs for items not bought from us?

Yes. Third-party repairs are raised as TPR-prefixed RMAs, which keeps them separate from your own sales. You can quote paid repairs through Shopify checkout for out-of-warranty items without exposing refunds or store credit.

What does it cost, and is there a free trial?

There's a Free plan — 5 returns a month at $0, then $2 per additional return (max 30/month), no credit card required. Starter is $49/month for up to 50 returns (then $2 per additional RMA, capped at $200/month), Growth is $299/month, Ops is $599/month and Scale is $1,349/month. Extra staff ($8/user), locations ($49) and Advanced Analytics ($249, Growth/Ops) are add-ons on any plan. Enterprise pricing for complex multi-brand operations is quoted individually. Billing runs through Shopify, so it appears on your existing Shopify invoice.

How long does implementation take?

ReturnMate installs from the Shopify App Store and connects to your store directly, so basic returns can be running the same day. Configuration that reflects your actual operation — fault code taxonomy, dangerous goods classification per SKU, SLA thresholds, warehouse locations and staff permissions — is what takes the time, and is what a demo is for.

Can we run multiple Shopify stores from one account?

Yes. Multi-store runs hub-and-spoke: transfers between locations, location-based role permissions, dedicated warehouse views, and reporting consolidated across every connected store.
