Where it earns its place.

German-resident merchants

DHL Paket carries most German ecommerce parcel volume. Returns and outbound replacements ride your existing GKP contract and negotiated rates.

Lightweight Warenpost returns

Small, light items route via Warenpost at letterbox-friendly rates, keeping low-value return costs proportionate.

EU and international from Germany

Europaket and Paket International extend the same account to EU and worldwide lanes without a second carrier relationship.

§ 03 — Setup

How DHL Parcel (Germany) gets connected.

Carrier accounts are set up by our team, not by you. We contact DHL Parcel (Germany) directly, obtain API access against your existing commercial account, and apply it — so you never have to source or handle API credentials.

  1. You send us three things

    Your existing DHL Parcel (Germany) account number, written authority for ReturnMate to contact them on your behalf, and your account manager's name, email and phone number.

  2. We contact DHL Parcel (Germany)

    Our support team requests API access against your account and handles the paperwork and technical back-and-forth with the carrier.

  3. We apply the credentials

    Credentials are stored encrypted against your shop. They are never shown to you and never need to be — there is nothing for you to paste or maintain.

  4. We test it end to end

    We generate a test label — including the dangerous goods transport document where it applies — and confirm it works before the carrier goes live for your team.

Questions about DHL Parcel (Germany).

What does Beta mean for DHL Parcel?

The integration is deployed and available to connect today — labels and cancellation are wired end-to-end against the Parcel DE Shipping API v2. Beta means it's newly released and still accumulating real-world merchant mileage; test on the sandbox before going live.

How is this different from DHL Express?

Different network, different API, different account. DHL Express is the international air-express product (see the DHL Express integration); DHL Paket is German domestic and road-based EU/international, run through your Geschäftskundenportal account. Many German merchants use both.

Are DHL Retoure return labels supported?

Not yet — DHL Retoure is a separate API and is on the Beta-expansion roadmap. Current return labels use the outbound product addressed to your warehouse, which the customer hands in at any DHL point.

Is tracking synced into ReturnMate?

Not yet — DHL's unified tracking API needs a separately-entitled key. Tracking links out to DHL's tracking page; native sync lands once that entitlement is added.
