Canpar + ReturnMate

BetaThis integration is production-deployed and merchant-usable today. We're still expanding feature coverage and may iterate on behaviour as we learn from real usage. No service interruptions are expected.

Canpar Express is the value pick among Canadian parcel carriers — a TFI-owned network favoured for cost-effective Ground service. ReturnMate connects to the CanShip Business web services for shipment creation, labels, rating, tracking, pickup scheduling, and voids on your Canpar account. Newly released in Beta.

§ 01 — Capabilities

What the Canpar connection actually does.

  • Canpar Ground, Select, and USA services via CanShip
  • Rating from your account's contract before the label commits
  • Pickup scheduling with self-serve day and window selection
  • Barcode tracking synced onto the RMA timeline
  • Shipment void directly from the RMA
  • Label PDFs served straight into the portal and admin
§ 02 — In practice

Where it earns its place.

Cost-focused Canadian returns

For non-urgent domestic returns, Canpar Ground is regularly the cheapest courier-collected option in Canada — meaningful on high return volume.

Customer-address collections

Returns book as scheduled Canpar pickups from the customer's address with the day chosen in the portal.

Second Canadian carrier for resilience

Merchants running Purolator or Canada Post as primary use Canpar as the cost benchmark and overflow network on the same ReturnMate workflow.

§ 03 — Setup

How Canpar gets connected.

Carrier accounts are set up by our team, not by you. We contact Canpar directly, obtain API access against your existing commercial account, and apply it — so you never have to source or handle API credentials.

  1. You send us three things

Your existing Canpar account number, written authority for ReturnMate to contact them on your behalf, and your account manager's name, email and phone number.

  2. We contact Canpar

Our support team requests API access against your account and handles the paperwork and technical back-and-forth with the carrier.

  3. We apply the credentials

Credentials are stored encrypted against your shop. They are never shown to you and never need to be — there is nothing for you to paste or maintain.

  4. We test it end to end

We generate a test label — including the dangerous goods transport document where it applies — and confirm it works before the carrier goes live for your team.

Turnaround varies by carrier, depending on how quickly they issue API access. Support confirms the expected timeline for Canpar when you start onboarding. Don't have an account with them yet? We can help you set one up.

§ FAQ

Questions about Canpar.

What does Beta mean for Canpar?

The integration is deployed and available to connect today — shipments, labels, rating, pickups, tracking, and voids are wired end-to-end. Beta means it's newly released and still accumulating real-world merchant mileage; test on the sandbox before going live.

How does Canpar compare to Purolator?

Canpar generally wins on price for Ground-speed parcels; Purolator wins on network speed, timed services, and business density. ReturnMate supports both natively so the trade-off is per shipment.

Does Canpar support dangerous goods?

No — DG-flagged SKUs are automatically routed to a DG-capable carrier and Canpar is blocked for those shipments.
